Help bring education to every child in the Amazons.
The education crisis is enormous. But together, we can solve it. Whether you choose to join us by giving once, or on a monthly basis, know that your generosity will help children transform their world.
Our Work
Build and Remodel Schools
There are hundreds of schools in the floodplains of the Amazons that get swallowed by the annual rise of the Amazon River and have to shut their doors 4 to 6 months out of the year, greatly limiting the ability of the delicate and eager young minds of the children to learn. With your help, we build modern schools with bathrooms, air conditioning, sheltered eating facilities, and more reliable electricity that will not get buried under the tides of the Amazon River. Thus providing educational opportunities year round, not to mention the food that they are provided that they may not be receiving at home.
Build and Reform Teacher Housing
The Amazons is unlike anywhere in the United States. Many of these schools only have one teacher, and most often they do everything for the schools in which they serve. They teach the young children in the morning, the older children in the afternoon, and the adults in the evening. The teachers provide food and also clean the school. All of this for little more than $300 per month. Unfortunately, you cannot move to the middle of the Amazons and find an apartment or a house to rent. If they have somewhere to live it is usually more like a small wooden box than somewhere you can rest and recover before the next day's labor of love. With your help, we can build suitable housing for these teachers who are already sacrificing so much to help the children of the Amazons.
Brasil Roça School
Imagine a place where the Amazon rainforest meets the river, where nature is abundant and life is vibrant. This is Brasil Roça, a community of people who love their land and their culture. But there is something missing in this paradise: a decent school for their children. The current school is nothing more than a wooden shack, with no facilities, no equipment, no comfort, no dignity. The children deserve better. They deserve a place where they can learn, grow, and thrive. A place where they can dream of a brighter future. That’s why we need your help. We want to build a new school for Brasil Roça, a school that will provide them with everything they need to succeed. A school that will be a source of pride and joy for the community. A school that will honor their heritage and their potential. With your generous donation, we can make this dream a reality. We need $30,000 to build a 1600 square foot school, made of brick, that will have all the basic necessities. If we raise $50,000, we can also add air conditioning and solar energy with battery backup, to make the school more comfortable and sustainable. And if we reach $60,000, we can also build a small home for the teacher to live in, to attract and retain qualified educators. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make a difference in the lives of these children and their community. Please join us in this noble cause and help us build a school for Brasil Roça. Together, we can create a legacy of hope and education for generations to come. Thank you for your support.
Pacheco School Dock Project
Justiniano Pacheco Municipal School is located on the bank of the Amazon River in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. The school serves over 200 students from the surrounding communities and urgently needed a new dock. The water level of the Amazon River had fallen drastically summer 2023, making it impossible for the children to reach the school from their boats, forcing the school to close its doors until the water level of the river rises again. The original dock was too short and did not reach the river's edge. It was also unstable, slippery, and often submerged by the river's fluctuations.
To solve this problem, we built a longer and stronger dock that extends 120 meters (almost 400 feet) into the river. This allowed the children to access the school without risking their lives. The project involved extending the dock by 70 meters and renovating the original 50-meter section. Because of the generous contributions made, the new dock not only helps protect the lives of the children, but also improves their access to education and their future opportunities. With a reliable dock, the children are able to attend school more regularly, and the school is able to receive more supplies and visitors.
